Career

Via amateur sides NFC and Amstelveen Heemraad Schilder joined Ajax and was part of the first team squad since the start of the 2005–06 season. He made his Eredivisie debut on February 8, 2006 in a 1–0 win over Willem II. During the season he would play another three league matches and Ajax won the KNVB Cup.

Prior to the 2006–07 season, Schilder participated in the 2006 Johan Cruijff Shield clash with PSV Eindhoven which was won 3–1. A few weeks later he was sent on loan to Heracles Almelo where he became one of the key players that played almost all matches and helped the team to prevent it from playing promotion/relegation play-offs with Eerste Divisie sides at the end of the season.

Schilder returned to Ajax for the start of the 2007–08 season. However, after failing to impress coach Henk Ten Cate and having played in only 8 league games, Schilder was once again loaned out to Heracles Almelo for the remainder of the season.

After the 2007–08 season Schilder signed on NAC Breda after failing to stake his claim in the first team. He signed a four-year contract on June 30.

Position

The left-footed Schilder can play on several positions both in midfield and defence, but his favourite role is as left sided midfielder.
